The Real Reason

We went to Arizona to visit family, and Ryan does have vacation time he needs to use, but let's be honest, Ryan also wanted to watch his brother Steven play football again this season. Steven is the quarterback for Mesquite HS. He's been awesome this season and Ryan is one of his biggest fans! :)
Here he is #6 with the ball
Ryan's mom made all 5 of the grand kids shirts for the games.
Gotta see what's going down on the field!

After the WIN the kids ran around on the field
and had ice fights

and threw the ball around
so did Nana
and the big boys
Steve's other biggest fans!
They love Aunt Aly too

Tate had fun helping Nana Tutt water the new grass
Ruthie must really love her Aunt Laurie because she shared the press-on nails she got for her birthday with her! They were so cute and could barely function with them on!

Ruthie's 5th Birthday

We ended up celebrating Ruthie's 5th birthday in Arizona. It was a last minute trip and lots of fun! Her birthday started out with breakfast and 4-wheeling in the desert with our friends the Clares.
Tate thought he was hot stuff!

Cactus in shoe=panicked Tate!
The main event of the day was swimming (on October 14th!) and dinner with both the Bevan and Tutt families.
The sunset made a beautiful backdrop for the festivities!

Great grandma Bevan gave Ruthie a Unicorn pinata. It was a huge hit with the kids!

Aunt Laurie took a few swings after it had been decapitated! There was still no candy.
Roo gave the final blow!

Uncle Steve with our cute niece.

She opened presents, swam,

and finally ended the night blowing out candles on her pink cake! A perfect birthday!

BYU-Idaho

We made the quickest trip up to Idaho on Labor Day. Ryan's parents and sister Aly came up to go see the BYU-Idaho campus before it is snow covered when she starts there in January. Our little family decided to tag along. I haven't been back since it was at Ricks College. The new Rexburg Temple is a beautiful addition. Ryan was excited to go on a behind the scenes tour of the huge new conference center that his company built. It won't be open for a couple more months. A ton has changed, but still a million memories came back!

Bear Lake 2010

Bear Lake is a favorite annual trip for Ryan's Davis family. We got to spend 2 days boating, playing on the beach, playing games, golfing, cutting both boys hair (yeah!) and of course lots of eating!
We went down to the lake the night we drove in.

Sea shell hunting with cousin Melanie
This boy can't stay clean with that much sand and water around

The main cabin
Ryan took the car for a drive to the lake.
He may have gone for a drive IN the lake too!
I never took my camera out on the boat. Ruthie loved tubing, even after being submarined by a wave! Ryan tried wake surfing this trip.

Thanks for another year of Bear Lake memories!

Camping

We went camping for a night in the Uintas with some friends of ours. It was beautiful, and we had the whole place to ourselves. In other words, it was just us and the mountains, no potty! :)

The roast masters
The kids loved roaming free
On our way home we took a drive and found some amazing wild flowers. Too bad we were not exactly dressed for portraits!
