Sunflowers

The beautiful sunflowers have been a bloomin here for the past few weeks. I decided to take the kids out one night and attempt to take some pictures. This is what I ended up with.

Kindergarten

Even though Ruthie is almost 6, I still can't believe she's in Kindergarten! She's my little girl! I have been asked if I was emotional the first day of school. I really wasn't simply because it was complete chaos at the kindergarten entrance at the school. There were 75 kindergarteners and most of their parents posing for pictures, waving, etc. It was mostly entertaining! Ruthie held the door for her whole class to go inside. She looked a little nervous, but that was the extent of it. She loves school and making friends and the monkey bars. That is the high point of school each day. She thinks homework is the worst part of school. That's my girl! :)

As much as I love going to the cabin in the winter, I LOVE the cabin in the summertime. This is precisely why. It is just beautiful out and perfect for hiking, walking, biking, exploring, etc. We have been able to go up a couple of times. We made it all the way to the top of the Lake Solitude trail in August with Ruthie and Tate hiking on their own 2 legs!
Smores anyone?

I am glad the kids get time with the Bevan Great grandparents.
We found snow mid-July. Ryan couldn't resist a slide

Bear Lake 2011

Another fantastic Davis family reunion at Bear Lake. The only bummer was that we were only there less than 24 hours since I had to work. So I went into work for 4 hours and was cancelled. What luck! The little time we had there was crammed full of fun!
Can you tell they kicked up some dust with the 4-wheeler?
The traditional glow bracelet dancing
It was dark out, so the flash caught some big eye peepers on the baby! He was jamming out to the techno tunes the teenagers had playing.
My flash dancers. That is the lake right behind them on the driveway/boat ramp. The water was super high this year!
Gotta love the swing with a view like this.

We are always glad to have little cousins to play with!
Taking off in the tractor
Fascinated by the carp at the marina
Ryan took all the kids out tubing
Not real sure about this life jacket thing

I love that my kids will literally sleep anywhere! And Luke is the lightest sleeper of them all!

The Kids

Ruthie and Tate both made big advances in their bike skills this summer! Tate moved up from his tricycle to a 12" (thanks to a ksl find). Ruthie took off the training wheels. You can find us going around the neighborhood pretty much every evening. I think I will miss that the most when the cold comes!

Tate found out what happens when you turn on the blender without the lid on. I was glad the first thing out of my mouth was "hold still while I get the camera!" I really didn't know what else to do.
This is old news by now, but
Luke claps, stands, crawls, and says Mama-finally! He is in trouble constantly! We love our very busy boy!

Aspen Grove with Lizzie

We spent 1/2 a day at Aspen Grove family camp with my sister Lizzie while she worked there this summer. My family went when I was 17 and loved it! It made me want to start saving now so we can have a reunion there in a few years!
It was so beautiful and there was plenty to do.
Swimming

My brave girl rock climbing

Playing on the 'pirate ship' with Liz
Frontier Village
Train rides
My cowboy and his little miss
Indian tales in the Tee pee
And water pump races
We had a blast! Thanks Aunt Lizzie!
